We have been played…

It looks like we are not the players,
(Who knows – we may have never been..)
By now we need a lot of prayers,
To deal with consequences unforeseen.

It’s not at all for the faint of heart -
Too much has been ignored, delayed,
While “we, the people” grew apart;
Friends, I think we have been played!
